From Alan Dick, Esports Head Coach...
Regular Esports season competition ended this week and results for post season play were announced this morning. Jefferson West Esports received 13 invitations to compete in the National post season competition!
Seven players qualified to play Super Smash Brothers. Michael Enneking, Ledger Brown, Cade Arnold, Jaxon Boswell, and Easton Haid all qualified to play at the highest level and will be competing in the Champions bracket beginning next week. Caden Schuetz and Evander Gardner have both qualified to play in the Gold Bracket.
In chess, 6th grader Atticus Thomas, finished his regular season ranked number 9 in the league and will compete in the champions bracket.
Our Mario Kart team qualified for their third straight appearance in nationals! Abby Downing, Ledger Brown, Caden Schuetz, Cade Arnold, and Easton Haid are all excited to take another shot at the title of nations best!
In more exciting news, Ledger Brown has been selected as a nominee for the K-12 Student Leader of the Year award by the Intercollegiate Esports organization VOICE. Ledger was nominated because he epitomizes what it means to be a young leader. He is talented but humble, has expectations of success but realizes that everyone participates at their own level and never holds that against someone. He encourages others to believe that they can always grow and celebrates every success as if it were his own. Let's cheer him on as the selection process continues!
We had an awesome start to our year. If you see any of these students celebrate with them as they work their way to the championships!

From Mrs. Conley, Jefferson West Blood Drive Coordinator…
Thank you for everything you did today – from donating blood to allowing students to miss class throughout the day to help out and donate themselves. We collected 46 units of blood as a community, and I was encouraged each time I stopped by the gym to see such a variety of people donating. These combined efforts make our community stronger!

Jefferson West High School Theatre Troupe presents “The Auditioners” by David Rand on Saturday, November 16th, at 7pm in the High School Commons. There will also be a matinee showing on Sunday, November 17th, at 2pm.
The audition was supposed to be simple: prepare one classical monologue and one contemporary monologue. But when this challenge is taken up by a beauty queen, a stand-up comic, a slam poet, an Esperanto-speaking mime, and a parade of other crazies -- most of whom insist on doing the same Lady Macbeth piece very badly -- what's a director to do?
Admission is $5/Adult and $3/Student (K-12).

From the desk of Dr. Brad Neuenswander, Ed.D., Superintendent USD 340
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our community. Your engagement and dedication to our school district are truly commendable. Any school district that goes through a bond process will always experience the anxiety that comes with this large of a change process. That is normal.
Although the USD 340 bond did not pass, it has sparked valuable discussions about the facility needs of our schools. These conversations amongst community members are crucial as they highlight the collective concern and commitment we all share for the well-being and success of our Jefferson West students. The needs identified during this process still remain, and we must continue to address them together. Fortunately, the bond process has equipped the district with valuable insights and a prioritized facilities list to help guide future decisions. The School Board is in the process of identifying and setting goals for the district and this bond process will be extremely important for their discussions.
Throughout this bond effort, I have seen how deeply our community cares about our district, our children, and the facilities that support their education. It is this shared passion and involvement that will drive us forward. Let’s continue these important conversations, as they are vital for our ongoing efforts to improve and enhance our district's educational environment.
Thank you for your dedication to our students and schools. With your continued support, we can achieve great things for the Jefferson West School District.
